None of those costs matter to me. All I care about is the cost per finished product, and time per product. I was hoping for that type of breakdown.
A basic breakdown for shirts would be like this:
Prints per life of printer divided by purchase price.
Cost of ink per print
Cost of maintenance per print
Cost of pre-treat per shirt
Cost of pre-treat unit divided by expected treats per life
Cost of pre-treat machine maintenance per print
Cost of misc. items used per print
Cost of a shirt
Time per shirt across all phases (from unboxing new product to boxing finished product.)
Then repeat with other products.
I know these vary, but there is an overall number that can be obtained for each of these and other aspects that need to be considered. It's the right way to determine if the profit is worth it vs adding something else to what I do. It also tells me if I'm planning on charging the correct amount. Then I can look at the time cost of doing it myself, or having a hired employee do some/all of it depending on the job.
I'm currently doing the same analysis with the Epson SureLab D1070DE for photographic prints at events. A lot less aspects to go over there, but it is still the right way to approach adding a new product.
It is critical that you know what it costs to make a product in both money and time. Then you can look at the price point of selling and determine if the profit is worthwhile. It also gives you the justification to make large purchases. Lifespan of equipment also helps you plan for replacement. For example, if you take a business loan to get started, you want to plan on repaying that loan as quickly as you can, and reserving funds to replace that equipment without having to take a new loan. The IRS 179 tax deduction can really help get that loan paid off, and then when you buy new equipment without a loan, 179 can help recover the funds for use with other acquisitions. (If you don't know what the Section 179 tax deduction is, talk to your tax professional, or look it up if you do your own. It is HUGE!) Just taking a loan and going in blind will find you still paying on the loan when your equipment is wearing out, or paying off the loan, but not being prepared to replace with out of pocket cash. Then it's a loan all over again.
How you doing Sir , do you know a good whole seller for a Richardson hats?

Good explanation everything covered. Big investment..
this printer is not cost effective at all 6-8 bucks for a print is nuts.
So typically what would you need to sell a full color shirt to make a profit with this machine? I know the tee is about $5 what about the ink cost per shirt
Would you buy one used? Is 4192 prints good for buying one use for around $5k?
Dang. Could get DTG $3K-$6K overseas. I ordered DTF w powder shaker and Wall/floor printer about $9K w shipping included. You just have a long wait time to receive
please tell me how to set up the icc color profile. I switched from original ink to dupont ink.
If done correctly on high quality cotton is it as durable as screening printing and can you print and sell higher quality t shirts with this printer as in a t shirt that sells for 50 dollars
