The 20th AGOA Forum was celebrated with a grand Gala Dinner at the Nasrec Expo Centre. The event was graced by esteemed attendees such as Ebrahim Patel, South Africa’s Department of Trade, Industry, and Cooperation Minister, and Katherine Tai, the United States Trade Representative.

The highlight of the evening was the African Fashion Collective by AFI, presented by Africa Fashion International, Africa’s leading fashion company, retailer, and development platform. Themed ‘Made In Africa’, this spectacular fashion show exhibited a sophisticated collection of Pan-African fashion, featuring garments by fashion designers and brands from AGOA partner nations such as Senegal, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Lesotho, Botswana, and South Africa.

For the past 16 years, AFI has been dedicated to promoting African fashion on the global stage and propelling designers to international recognition. The core objective of AFI is to create a robust business platform and ecosystem that facilitates trade for African fashion and brands.

Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, a visionary businesswoman and philanthropist, conceived AFI with a deep admiration for African creativity, craftsmanship, and culture. AFI has become an innovative platform, playing a pivotal role in fostering, supporting, and showcasing exceptional creative minds throughout Africa.

AFI’s offerings cater to both local and international consumers who appreciate bespoke African luxury and craftsmanship. Through its platform, AFI connects global consumers with unique and high-quality apparel, accessories, and products from established and emerging designers, cementing its position as a leader in the fashion industry.

The African Fashion Collective by AFI at the 20th AGOA Forum not only highlighted the talent and diversity within the continent but also emphasized the power of collaboration and trade partnerships. This event serves as a testament to Africa’s growing influence in the global fashion market and its commitment to promoting sustainable economic development through the creative industries.
