You are right. This is not always good. Once the western record labels start having a huge influence in our artists, it’s over. Look at what they are doing to Asake. This guy’s music videos used to be very rich in African culture, now all his latest videos looks very strange. An Americanized film contraption with no story or meaning behind it.

Great point saying that other African countries need to develop their own entertainment infrastructure.

Just because Sony, Empire, Warner sign an act or two from your country doesn't mean they're the saviors of your music scene. It all starts from the locals creating the foundation to have leverage with global labels first.

Good thing Nigeria have homegrown labels with global distribution deals to help keep more of the profits from international investment back in our country.

Do you know how much it is to produce some of the Netflix movies. $10million is nothing in Nollywood and South Africa movie industry. As for music, one naija musician can loan that amount to the industry.

Ajim can you please talk about this..

Countries who get most US aids 2023
    πŸ‡¦πŸ‡« Afghanistan $1.5 billion
    πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ή Ethiopia $1.4 billion
    πŸ‡―πŸ‡΄ Jordan $1.3 billion
    πŸ‡ΎπŸ‡ͺ Yemen $1.1 billion
    πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Έ South Sudan $1.0 billion
    πŸ‡¨πŸ‡© DRC $891 million

Among the top countries benefiting from U.S. assistance are various African nations contending with both famine and internal conflicts. Notably, Colombia stands out in the top 10, receiving millions of dollars to combat drug trafficking.

The world has never seen anything yet. Even with the little the Afrobeats has shown and have got, they are yet to see what Africans have. I look forward to see the remaining features of African highlife, which can be used as medicine for mental healing in the world. Highlife is the king of all and with the qualities of the Africans, none has got the talent to start it. It is reserved for the pure in mind and heart. Africans keep trying..
