Relive Balmain’s triumphant return to Paris Men’s Fashion Week: a feast of vibrant colors, opulent gold, and exquisite couture.
Drawing inspiration from the “sapeur” cultural movement, @olivier_rousteing orchestrated a buoyant mixture of tailored french silhouettes and colorful African patterns, while also turning to former creative collaborators – @princejyesi and @ibbynjoya – to bring their poignant, graphic works of art to life. The ensemble results in a freeing, maximalist display that marks an unapologetic stake in the sand: a vision of luxury is whatever we make it. #BALMAINFW24

So where are all the white models?
So what happen to menswear? This is womenswear via YSL last century. As a 64 year old with 3 degrees in fashion, it's sad how the fashion industry just DIED in 1999. Instead, the industry has settled on appeasing this so-called non-gender generation of children and faux adults in this century. What a waste of an historic industry. What's really sad is that this 21st century faux adult actually thinks that gender-bending dressing started with them…and not Egypt or even 15th century Europe. My goodness kids, Kings and noblemen wore tights, pantaloons and mid-thigh length skirts. Get a grip on what is "actually fashion", then try designing it someday. 🤨🤨

on the positive side some of the design and fabric choices were so innovative and clever! I found the clothing itself though to look tacky, ghetto wannabe and try to hard. I could see some ghetto superstar thinking that they just look great in this. It is great for presentation in a runway show but other than that this is overpriced way tacky stuff that anyone with real style would never even consider buying or wearing. You may think i am crazy but maybe I have just overthought the entire presentation.

Balmain will never take off for many reasons. While fashion is interesting, if the Balmain stores reak of subway squalor like NYC then nothing sells. Same with dry cleaning services that reak of cigarette smoke.

I was under the Louis Vuitton which I thought was a departure from French fashion in place of cowboy couture… This fashion show has broken all standards of perfection…
